Peter Dick’s 4th CD release, ‘Poetic License’, is a solo piano recording made in-studio. It follows the live concert trio CD ‘Here Today’ (2017), solo piano disc ‘String Theory’ (2011), and ‘Tree House’ with poet Ronna Bloom (2009). Stripping away the superfluous, this recording is more pianistic poetry, than prose. A mix of original compositions and tunes by others, also included are 3 spontaneous compositions where use of an overdub creates 4-hands ‘orchestrations’ – a new process for this artist where the end result seems greater than the sum of its parts. Peter lives and works in his native Toronto as a pianist, composer, and teacher of jazz piano studies.
